Posted: Sun 30 May, 2010 6:40 pm: Ive got the same problem, changed the timing belt on my 2005 1.4 206 HDI today, did everything by the book, timing pins through the flywheel and camshaft sproket, fitted the new belt, turned the engine through 10 revolutions, checked the timing, everything spot on, put it all back together, went to start it, starter motor turns, but engine wont fire. 1. response. 206 wont start. On the DV4 engine the hole in the flywheel is only for locking the crank to loosen the pulley, it does not line up the timing. The timing on the crankshaft is by a small rod through the pulley on the pulley end of the engine.
